SALES ENGINEER

 

As a Sales Engineer at Aplicor, this role will work closely alongside sales staff, sales leadership, operations and product management with a focus on current and next generation solutions. The candidate will showcase their deep background in management of the sales process and/or profitability objectives by supporting the sales teams in maintaining existing, as well as growing revenue streams through new client acquisition, maintaining relationships with strategic partners, and other associated marketplace opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Be a “Product Evangelist” selling the value of our products, emphasizing how our products can help them grow their business, streamline their operations and make better management decisions
  • Research prospects to identify their needs, create and deliver powerful and strategic demonstrations and presentations that emphasize our value and how our products can help them grow their business
  • Guide Prospects: adeptly answer questions and overcome objections with creative ideas regarding implementation options for our products. The ideal candidate would have worked on or been closely involved in solution selling and therefore can relate to the challenges that stem from an implementationAssist sales teams in the development and building of sales pipeline in alignment with Sales plans and goals
  • Provide direct support to Sales staff and Sales Leadership in the identification, development and closure of high-value new customer accounts and growing business volume with existing customers
  • Participate directly in the sales process, working cross-functionally to develop sales strategies and solutions to drive deals to closure
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of Aplicor products & services in context of the broader SMB market and how they are currently deployed – drive development of appropriate business support frameworks including demonstrations, webinars, proposals and prospect business requirements

  • Maintain close relationships with internal delivery, operations and support functions to drive business development
  • Web Conferencing skills, able to present and demo with the same confidence and professionalism remotely as if you were in person, its core to our sales model
  • Design and maintain multiple Product demonstration environments
  • Develop new client relationships to support Account Executives within the sales process.
  • Document sales engagement activities and notes in our Aplicor platform
  • Report issues and thoughtful product enhancement ideas to the Product Team

 

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years’ experience with demonstrating effective software solutions via web conferencing, preferably with CRM and ERP applications in distribution
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience with ERP solutions is REQUIRED (i.e. Oracle, SAP, Netsuite, Microsoft Dynamics AX, PeopleSoft, JD Edwards, Siebel ERP, etc.)
  • Strong presentation and solution development with experience in business and technical buyers
  • Substantial experience in a technical sales consultancy role with a successful record of designing, managing and/or selling software solutions
  • Consultative sales experience with oral and written communication skills are a must
  • Experience in developing tactical sales strategies for individual customer engagements as well as participating in strategic solution development
  • Excellent communicator – ability to discuss and present technical and commercial solutions to a wide, internal and external audience within an organization including CEOs/CIOs/CFOs, Vice Presidents, Administrators, Project Managers, Developers, and Business Analysts/QAs. An understanding of the different roles and functions within a Company, their IT department and how they correlate during an implementation
  • Technical and business backgrounds
  • Attention to detail / meticulous organizational skills –proven track record of authoring high quality documentation, sales documentation and managing tactical sales engagements
  • Organized approach to work with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain perspective with both client and internal demands
  • Self-starter, high goal achiever, high energy individual with a positive attitude, realizing that consistent personalized focused activity will drive success

 

Education And/Or Related Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Management Information Systems or equivalent knowledge and experience
  • Industry-related experience in CRM, ERP and eCommerce applications, or other similar software sales
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of products

 

Other Requirements

  • Knowledge of SQL is a plus
  • Candidate must be a US citizen or permanent resident
